Learning to Learn Annual Conference
Every learner matters: schools as communities of learners
8 November 2006, Lord's Cricket Ground, London

The Learning to Learn Annual Conference is an ideal opportunity to hear about current thinking on learning to learn, find out how the research schools are contributing to our understanding in this vital area and explore how to use learning to learn to improve teaching and personalised learning.

Keynote speakers will include our research team from the Universities of Newcastle and Durham who will take you through our findings to date and the relevance for the current teaching and learning debate. You will also hear about the big picture context for learning to learn, what the government is doing to support the learning to learn agenda and how learning to learn can be taken forward by teachers, pupils, students and parents.

Education Cafés will offer delegates the chance to discuss key themes from the learning to learn project and how these relate to current practice and policy with particular reference to the personalised learning agenda. Each Café will feature a panel from different areas of the education world. Themes to be discussed are:

1. Opportunities and issues for learner voice
2. Teacher-Researcher-Learner: a new virtuous circle?
3. What can learning to learn offer personalisation?

In addition the conference will offer:

  • A lunch time tour of Lord's Cricket Ground, the home of cricket and the game's spiritual 'headquarters'.
  • The launch of the second book in the Learning to Learn for Life series which focuses on Key Stage 2. For further details click here
  • The chance to hear about other Campaign for Learning activities, including a new support services for schools.
