National Family Learning Network Conference in partnership with the BBC - Families For Our Times
Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre
London
12 March 2007
A National Family Learning Network conference in collaboration with BBC’s Child of Our Time team. This high profile conference will examine the roles of families in supporting learning and explore the current policy context and practice. It will build on the highly successful conferences of the previous two years.
The NFLN has developed a strong working relationship with the BBC’s Child of Our Time team. This BBC landmark series features a large number of families whose children were born around the millennium and who represent the widest possible range of genetic, social, geographical and ethnic backgrounds. The series has been commissioned to answer the age-old question of whether we are born or made. The series has been given 20 years to conduct a massive series of experiments on the selected families’ growing children. These fascinating experiments will build up a coherent picture of the way genes and environments interact to make us who we are. Each year the series provides a valuable backdrop for the NFLN annual conference, providing fascinating insights, interesting themes and research to support the conference interactive forums.
This conference builds on the highly successful conferences of the previous two years.
