Education and skills policy masterclass

Suitable for: Policy analysts and practitioners new to education and skills policy or moving into a new role including research, business development, campaigning and policy formation; or policy analysts and practitioners wishing to brush up on education and skills policy.

About the masterclass: This masterclass delivered by Mark Corney, Policy Adviser to the Campaign for Learning, will provide participants with an overview of education and skills policy. They are particularly useful for policy analysts and practitioners in schools, further education and higher education who wish to obtain a view on the whole system.

What you will cover: Each masterclass includes a ninety minute session on each of the following topics: the politics of education and skills policy; sources of information on education and skills policy; how to influence education and skills policy.










Mark Corney is a leading commentator on education and skills policy. He works for a wide range of organisations advising on and supporting their policy development. Mark writes regularly for the national and education press including The Guardian and TES. In 2011 he gave evidence to the House of Commons' Education Select Committee on 16-19 participation and raising the participation age. Mark has also authored a series of respected policy pamphlets on the pupil premium, 14-19 funding, adult’s skills, higher education and employer funding of training.
