For many people, however, the fear of looking stupid or not knowing how to learn effectively can prevent them from taking up opportunities that could change their and others' lives. Research shows that people who learn through their lives are more likely to be happier, healthier, have better jobs, contribute more to society and live longer and more fulfilled lives.

Your donation will help us to:

• develop relevant and vibrant learning resources that give families and individuals the confidence to change their lives through learning
• conduct groundbreaking research into how to effectively support people to learn through their lives
• help organisations that work with families and individuals to develop engaging learning provision and support, particularly in disadvantaged communities
• raise awareness of the benefits of learning to a wider audience and the support that is available, particularly to people that are least likely to learn
• campaign to raise the profile of what works in engaging people in learning throughout their lives
