National Partnerships

The Family Learning Festival is a national campaign that aims to raise its profile through the media and with opinion formers as well as by reaching organisers and families. One of the ways in which we do this is by linking in with key partners that run similar campaigns or that have related aims and objectives. This helps us to provide a wider range of resources as well as reaching more organisations that might be interested in getting involved.

Please find more information about our partners below. In order to make the most of your event you can use resources and ideas from both our partners and the Campaign for Learning. Remember to ensure that you register your event with the Family Learning Festival and other relevant partners to ensure that you get maximum publicity and promotion for your event.

BBC RaW
RaW, the BBC’s adult literacy campaign continues with its highly successful families phase, using Max and Lara’s Amazing Travelling Space Circus. The BBC is producing new books, great family story festivals and a family writing competition.
RaW is organising FREE train-the-trainer story writing workshops for practitioners. These workshops have been devised with the family learning environment in mind. To be eligible you must have contact with emergent readers and be able to run your own workshops reaching at least 20 adults and agree to promote the competition to your learners. There are places available all over the UK in August, September and October - email raw.workshops@bbc.co.uk to find out about practitioners’ workshops in your area.
Organisers can sign up as RaW centres to receive free resources, receive campaign updates and get listed on BBC helplines. RaW Centres and libraries will be sent booklets explaining the competition. If you would like copies of the booklet the best way is to register as a RaW Centre in the campaign partner section at www.bbc.co.uk/raw The competition launches on 3rd September 2007 and closes 31 January 2008.

Dadcando.com
Dadcando.com is intended to be a resource for all dads, but with a special emphasis on helping the single and or non-resident fathers who have contact with their children – however mums are allowed to use the resources too! The resources on this site are ideal for practitioners to use with families and a great tool to promote to dads.
