The Schools White Paper on 21st Century Schools was presented to Parliament on Tuesday 30th June 2009 (http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/21stcenturyschoolssystem/) and Ed Balls wrote to heads, governors and support staff about what it will mean.

The Secretary of State, in launching the White Paper, spoke of the economic imperative and the moral imperative that the country faces and which the paper is designed to address.

With a pupil guarantee, a parent guarantee, the school report card and a new “license to teach”, there is plenty to discuss.

Chris Waterman (editor of Children’s Services Weekly and co-editor of Education Journal) will be joining us to offer a forensic analysis of the key proposals. As usual there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and debate.
