| Time: 2pm - 4pm Cost: £99 plus VAT "PM Gordon Brown has pledged to ensure every young person has done 50 hours of community work by the time they are 19 years old." (BBC) The scheme will be introduced in September and will be woven into plans for raising the participation age and the plans for a compulsory citizenship studies in the 14-16 curriculum. This event will examine the issues of implementing such a scheme and the impact it will have on the 14-19 phase and the raising of the participation age. Jayne Hathway of 2QAB CIC; and Michael Phillips, Student Programme Manager at Barnado's. Mark Corney, Policy Adviser to the Campaign, will discuss the issues for raising the participation age. | ||||||||
