The new Government has placed even greater emphasis than its predecessor on increasing the number and improving the quality of Apprenticeships. We are promised better and clearer routes for young people wanting to take vocational options, and adult Apprenticeships have been the main beneficiaries of the first reductions in the Train to Gain programme.

Questions remain about the ability of employers, public and private, to meet all of the Government's expectations. Small employers, a key part of the economy, are likely to find it hardest. And with Group Training Associations and a range of new models on the table, what roles are now envisaged for FE?

David Way, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service, will lead discussion on the future of Apprenticeships, with Mark Corney, Policy Adviser to the Campaign, providing a commentary. The event will be chaired by Tricia Hartley, Chief Executive of the Campaign.
