Apprenticeships- Prospects for 2010

Rathbone
4th Floor, Churchgate House
56 Oxford Street
Manchester M1 6EU

09 March 2010

Time: 11am-1pm

The Labour Government is committed to creating a 'cadre of technicians' gaining Advanced Apprenticeships and Foundation Degrees, and both Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats would re-engineer Train to Gain funding to expand apprenticeships. Apprenticeships are critical to increasing participation by 18 in the context of raising the participation age and reducing youth unemployment. But the fiscal deficit is placing a question mark over all adult skills and higher education funding.

This session will discuss the prospects for Apprenticeships in the year ahead. Tricia Hartley, Chief Executive of the Campaign will facilitate the session. There will be plenty of time for detailed discussion through the two hour session.
